1. Foundation |
|
Mie Data Craft Co. (MDC) was founded in June, 1994 in the form of a “ third sector company” with investment of three public and private sector bodies, i.e. the Mie Pref. Government, Tsu Municipal Govt. and NKK Corp. (now, JFE Engineering Corp. established as a result of the consolidation of two giant steel companies, NKK Corp. and Kawasaki Steel Corp. in 2003). Its creation authorized by the Ministry of Labor, Health & Welfare was solely for the purpose of promoting employment of the challenged, especially those with serious disability. We are a group member of our parent company, i.e. JFE Engineering Corp., exclusively working for the said purpose. |

2. Company's Vision |
|
MDC has been promoting employment of the challenged so that they could become independent both financially and socially, and eventually, contribute to the regional development of social welfare. We aspire to be a company of highly professional staff with spirit to overcome various difficulties and offer service to the community as a socially responsible company so that MDC would be patronized by customers both within and out of Mie Prefecture, Japan |

3. Main Lines of Business Operation |
|
MDC has been engaging mainly in computer-aided design, information & data processing and in preparing various engineering documents for shipbuilding and construction of heavy steel structures like bridges. At present, our main business lines are categorized in eight fields, namely CAD, System Development, GIS, Web (Home Page), Data Entry, OA support, Audio-Visual Edition and Data Collection & Analysis, all of which are rooted in and developed from engineering know-how & expertise of shipbuilding and heavy steel structures in which JFE Group has been a world leader over years. |

4. Current Status of Business Operation |
|
The fiscal year 2007 showed MDC’s annual turnover of \ 255 million. Profit was also gained in eight consecutive years though its amount is rather small. Our main clients include JFE Engineering Corp. and its group companies, Universal Shipping Corporation and governmental bodies in Mie Pref. Turnover-wise, each shares approx. 40%, 55% and 5% respectively.
In 2007, we recruited locally two challenged persons. We can provide the challenged with accommodation of barrier-free access in Tsu city as needed.

5. 2nd Mid-Term Corporate Business Operation Plan (2006 - 2008) |
|
The 2nd Mid-Term Plan (2006 –2008) started in April, 2006. In this period, MDC would seek further strengthening of corporate business operation in full consideration of our mission set out at its foundation. We are planning to pursue employment of 5 seriously handicapped persons and more during the period while maintaining financial soundness through the expansion of our business operation in new fields, both in sales items and areas. Various administrative and welfare measures have also been taken for safety & health control, enhancement of training, fostering friendship & get-together events, including annual trips by bus equipped specially for the challenged so that all employees can work in a healthy, comfortable and friendly atmosphere. |
